Award winning Reggae/Dance-Hall singer and songwriter, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy yesterday took to his social media account to officially disclose that he had signed a new deal with global brand Island Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, thus making him the first contemporary Nigerian act to officially sign a deal with the power brand.
The former Aristokrat Records front-runner had been independent since he parted ways with the label sometime last year. This is surely a step in the right direction for an artiste who’s possibly one of the most underrated names in the game. He should be clearing out all the major awards yearly.
